Your Mission 🎯
Bridge Procedures & Navigation
- Conduct vessel visits to assess navigation practices, passage planning, and bridge resource management.
- Facilitate crew workshops using case studies and lessons learned from near misses.
- Ensure bridge equipment is maintained and operated properly.
Cargo & Shipboard Operations
- Collaborate with deck officers on cargo handling, stowage, and hazardous cargo management.
- Lead discussions to improve safety and efficiency in cargo operations.
Ship Management & Compliance
- Support the DPA in evaluating deck and safety activities.
- Liaise with Technical Superintendents and Procurement to meet vessel requirements.
- Oversee compliance with SMS, flag state rules, and operational procedures.
- Manage key operational documentation including the Garbage Management Plan and Oil Record Book.
Continuous Improvement & Safety Culture
- Analyze incidents, near misses, and non-conformities; implement fleet-wide corrective actions.
- Ensure crew qualifications meet standards; conduct interviews for deck officers and ratings.
Emergency Preparedness & Audits
- Lead safety and navigational audits, inspections, and drills.
- Refine emergency response procedures through practical training and evaluations.
- Investigate incidents and recommend preventive measures.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If You… 🔍
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies or equivalent qualifications.
- Bring extensive seagoing or ship management experience.
- Are well-versed in ISM compliance, navigation, cargo operations, and safety audits.
- Excel at decision-making, problem-solving, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate effectively with crews, cross-functional teams, and regulators.
