Job Summary
- The Asset Disposal Specialist is responsible for the disposal of all approved non-performing assets and cargoes that are no longer economically viable, ensuring completion within the agreed turnaround time. This role involves monitoring the booking and retirement of assets in company records, ensuring adherence to updated systems and departmental procedures, and prioritizing the company’s interests to achieve optimal returns from asset disposals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Bidders and Service Providers Accreditation
- Select and assess qualified bidders/service providers per item category.
- Require, review, and process accreditation documents.
- Conduct site inspections for validation.
- Maintain and update the Bidder Maintenance Form and process renewals.
Certificate for Disposal (CFD) Management
- Review completeness and accuracy of CFD documentation.
- Inspect and validate items/assets scheduled for disposal.
- Coordinate item preparation and grounding; approve or reject based on evaluation.
- Receive and process online CFD submissions.
Bid Management
- Send invitations to accredited bidders via system/email.
- Conduct inspections and facilitate bid sessions.
- Monitor, open, and update bids in multiple systems.
- Create bid summaries and seek necessary approvals.
- Negotiate higher offers with top bidders to maximize returns.
Waste Disposal Coordination
- Source qualified hazardous and non-hazardous waste collectors.
- Obtain quotations, conduct facility inspections, and request RFQ approval.
- Track PR and PO processes.
- Facilitate item pull-outs and document the destruction process with official certification.
Payment and Asset Withdrawal
- Assist bidders in securing payment receipts and ensure Finance books ORs online.
- Issue Authority to Withdraw and oversee item withdrawal with authorized representatives.
Asset and Records Management
- Verify asset retirement in the Online FATA system.
- Organize and file relevant disposal documents for traceability.
- Conduct market research to determine asset value.
- Support tagging and inventory during physical asset counts.
Internal Coordination and System Training
- Engage CFD endorsers to resolve concerns and improve service levels.
- Train internal stakeholders on the online disposal module for efficient navigation and use.
Compliance and Reporting
- Uphold corporate values in all actions.
- Submit regular asset disposal reports as required by the Asset Disposal Manager.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Industrial Engineering or Engineering Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
- Working knowledge with Oracle System, an advantage.
- Knowledge of I.E. tools such as project management, process improvement and root cause analysis an advantage.
- Inventory & Warehouse Management or equivalent, an advantage
- With at least 1 year experience in the field of Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation and Shipping business.
