Operations Coordinator

Job Summary

  • Responsible for ensuring that all inbound cargoes will be unloaded while outbound cargoes will be loaded to vessel. In charge of Checking, Accepting & Releasing of Inbound or Outbound Cargoes at On-dock & Off-Dock Cy. Validates issued D.O, Inspect container & document its condition in the EIR prior release. Inspect & release good & appropriate containers base on the requirement of shippers prior stuffing or Empty release. Execute operations base on the safety standards, Policies & Procedures set by the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

ON DOCK :

  • To represent berthing meeting in the absence of Ops Supervisor
  • Conduct & submit inventory of container & chassis present at port.
  • To coordinate with Handling Operators for Vessel ATA & volume of cargoes for their manpower deployment.
  • To coordinate with Pilot, Tugboat operators & Fresh water supplier for the requirement of the arriving vessel.
  • To check, measure, document & accept shipside cargoes like RC, LCL & other cargoes directly stuffed at port.
  • To coordinate with the Handling Operator for the available space of RC’s & stacking area for inbound cargoes.
  • To ensure premounting of Outbound Cargoes prior arrival of vessel.
  • To conduct physical inventory of outbound Cargoes if indeed inyard prior vessel arrival. Closely coordinates with Off Dock coordinators if other cargoes are not yet inyard.
  • To conduct toolbox meeting with Vessel Checkers prior operations starts.
  • To ensure unloading of Inbound Cargoes based on ICR while ensure loading of Outbound Cargoes based on Loadlist.
  • Regularly coordinates with vessel checker for any operational contraints that may affect Productivity of operation.
  • To release Inbound Cargoes that are directly catch or pulled-out at Port.
  • To Facilitate transfer of all inbound containers to off dock CY. To check actual condition of container & document to EIR.
  • To ensure that inbound and outbound containers are cleared from the pier apron and assigned marshalling area within allowable free time.
  • To prepare & submit reports VAR to required recepients (SMS & Email).
  • Tags actual loaded cargoes in the system.
  • Perform & execute operations based on the Safety standard set by the company.
  • Prepares incident report for any untoward incidents or beyond normal process that may happen during & after operations.
  • Performs other duties that maybe assigned by immediate leader.

OFF DOCK:

  • To release good condition & appropriate containers base on shippers requirement prior stuffing of cargo or Empty release for pick-up.
  • To check & document in EIR the condition of all containers coming in & out in the CY. Prepare IR for any damages found & submit to Surveyor or Ops Supervisor for proper investigation & charging
  • To Facilitate transfer of all outbound cargoes to on dock/Port base on advance or final loadlist.
  • Validate details of D.O versus the actual container including the seal prior release of Inbound Cargo. In case of discrepancy, ensure to coordinate with FDT/CIC for revalidation.
  • Check & inspect empty returned containers for any damages & trash. Document in the EIR its actual condition. Prepare IR for any damages found & submit to Surveyor or Ops Supervisor for proper investigation & charging.
  • Check & receive laden outbound cargoes from shipper, validate documents like PBL versus the actual container including the seal. Document its condition in the EIR. In case of damages, prepare IR & submit to surveyor or Ops Supervisor for prper investigation & proper charging.
  • Perform and submit daily inventory report of container & chassis present in CY.
  • To locate containers in the CY that are subject for releasing or stripping.
  • To instruct CHEO on the placement of Containers coming in the Cy base on the given CY lay-out.
  • To instruct CHEO of the containers that are subject for mounting to Trucks.
  • Prepares incident report for any untoward incidents or beyond normal process that may happen during & after operations.
  • Perform & execute operations based on the Safety standard set by the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Business Course
  • With 6 months to 1 year work experience in shipping or fowarding industry.
