Food, culture, and travel are coming together at sea as 2GO Travel teams up with FEATR Media, the food and travel channel founded by Erwan Heussaff, to launch Taste of the Philippines, a first-of-its-kind program that celebrates Filipino cuisine through hands-on learning and cultural immersion.

The culinary journey will take students and aspiring chefs from Manila to Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, with every stop spotlighting the country’s regional flavors, bustling markets, and local cooking traditions. Onboard and ashore, participants will join chef-led workshops, cooking demos, and guided tastings that highlight the diversity of Filipino food — from Luzon’s heirloom recipes to Visayan seafood and Mindanaoan spices.

“Filipino cuisine has rich regional stories that deserve more recognition,” said Heussaff. “By immersing students in these experiences, we help nurture a deeper appreciation of our food culture and the value of telling these stories.”

Beyond the flavors, the program is designed to connect young culinary and hospitality professionals with industry mentors, offering networking opportunities that could open doors locally and abroad.

FEATR will also document the journeys, ensuring Filipino food stories reach wider audiences worldwide.

“Taste of the Philippines is part of 2GO’s Educational Tour Series, which provides students with practical exposure to the industries they aspire to join,” said Francis Chua, 2GO Travel business unit head. “Through this program, we not only celebrate Filipino cuisine but also strengthen the link between travel, education, and cultural appreciation.”

The first Taste of the Philippines voyage is set to launch this month, sailing the Manila–Cebu–Cagayan de Oro route.
