Summary

Job Summary:

The HR Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing the organization’s payroll processes to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves handling salary calculations, tax deductions, compliance with labor laws, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The HR Payroll Specialist also collaborates with the HR and Finance teams to address payroll-related issues and provide excellent employee service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Prepare and process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Calculate wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions (e.g., taxes, benefits, and other withholdings).
  • Review and verify timesheets and attendance records.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Prepare and submit statutory filings such as tax returns, social security contributions, and other mandatory reports.
  • Generate and provide payroll reports to management and stakeholders as needed.

Employee Records Management:

  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in the HRIS system.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data.

Benefits Administration:

  • Manage and administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave.
  • Coordinate with vendors and government agencies for benefit enrollment and compliance.

Issue Resolution:

  • Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, deductions, and benefits.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or errors.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and implement best practices.
  • Stay updated on payroll trends, laws, and systems to ensure operational efficiency.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the HR team on compensation changes, new hires, and terminations.
  • Partner with the Finance team to reconcile payroll accounts and ensure budget alignment.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience in payroll processing or HR functions, typically 2–4 years.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP).
  • Strong understanding of local labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
